Privacy
You can start using Aviatr the moment you install it, no account required. We collect as little data as possible, only what's needed to track your flights and build your trips. We don't run ads and we never sell your data to anyone. You can see, export, or delete everything we collect at any time, right from the app.
Introduction
Aviatr is a flight and trip companion app, built by people who love travel. This policy covers the iOS app, our web share pages, and this website: what we collect, why, and what your choices are. Our guiding rule is simple: collect as little as possible, and never sell it. If anything here is unclear, write to ops@aviatr.app.
Information We Collect
Information you provide: the name and email Apple shares if you sign in with Apple, anything you send to ops@aviatr.app for support or feedback, a recipient's phone number if you turn on Aviatr Pro's text notifications, the People connections you choose to add, and the booking emails you forward to your Aviatr import address.
Information collected automatically: an anonymous device identifier, basic device info and app version, crash logs, and simple anonymous usage data.
Information from third parties: Sign in with Apple gives us the name and email you choose to share when you sign in, and Apple tells us your subscription status.
How We Use Your Information
We use what we collect to run the app: track your flights, build your trips, and send flight alerts. We use it to sync your data across your own devices, to improve features and fix bugs, to respond when you contact support, and to prevent abuse or fraud.
Analytics & Diagnostics
We collect basic app performance data, crash reports, and anonymous usage information so we can find and fix problems. This data is anonymized and isn't tied to who you are. It's kept to that minimum on purpose, so there's no separate opt-out to offer beyond it.
How We Protect Your Information
Your data lives on Aviatr's backend and its cloud host. Some things, like your drive-time-to-the-airport estimate, are computed only on your iPhone and never sent to us at all. Data is encrypted in transit, and sensitive items like booking references are encrypted at rest. We keep your data while your account is active and delete it on request. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect it, though no system can guarantee absolute security.
Sharing Information
We do not sell your data. We only share information with the service providers we need to run the app: Railway, which hosts our backend, database, and cache (the specific hosting region hasn't been published yet and will be added once it's confirmed with the hosting provider); Apple, for sign-in, push notifications, and in-app purchases; Resend, for transactional email and to receive the booking emails you forward; Twilio, for Aviatr Pro's opt-in text notifications; AeroDataBox, for flight status and schedule data, with FlightAware and AviationStack as backup sources; Unsplash and Pexels, for the destination photos on your Trips tab; adsb.lol, for live aircraft position while you're in the air, an anonymous public lookup that we don't send any of your data to; and Sentry, for crash reports and diagnostics. If you turn on email import, the booking emails you forward are parsed to build your trips. On newer devices with Apple Intelligence, you can choose whether that parsing happens on your device or through our AI provider, Anthropic. On older devices without Apple Intelligence, it is done through Anthropic. Either way, email import is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings. When Anthropic is used, the forwarded emails are not stored and are discarded right after processing. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Your Choices
You can delete your account any time, with no waiting period: Settings → Privacy → Delete account. You can export your data: Settings → Account → Download My Data. You can manage permissions like location and notifications in iOS Settings. And if you receive Aviatr Pro texts, you can reply STOP at any time to opt out. For anything else, write to ops@aviatr.app: a real person reads every message.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continuing to use Aviatr after an update means you accept the current version, so check back here if you want to know what's changed.
